Are you a talented individual who is looking for practical experience in an international company propelling the world toward a greener future? Are you ready to assist in developing cutting-edge  and innovative technology? Would you like to join a department that makes a lasting impact by developing engine control software for the world’s largest combustion engines? – Then we have the perfect opportunity for you!

You will play an important role:
When developing engine control software, it is important to be able to test the software in different simulation environments, as it is far too slow and expensive to test on a real ship engine. One of these simulation environments are our Hardware-in-the-Loop testwalls, where we test the software on the real controllers that are used on the ships.

We are looking for a talented student assistant for our HILS team that can help with the maintenance and development of these testwalls.

Your main tasks will include:

  • Cabling and electrical work on low voltage setups
  • Electrical documentation (We use the program PCschematics)
  • Assist with various IT tasks related to the test facilities
  • Buying components for the testwalls
  • Maintenance of our component stock and other ad hoc tasks

We imagine that you

  • Are a student within a technical field – e.g. Marine Engineer (Maskinmester), Automation technician or Engineering etc.
  • Are relatively early in your studies
  • Have the opportunity to work 10-15 hours per week, and possibly more during school holidays.
  • Have an interest in electronics, electrical systems and IT.
  • Have good communicative skills and belong to the top of the class.
  • Want to contribute to a good social environment and collaborate closely with colleagues.
  • Are self-motivated and have an analytical approach to your work, with focus on developing good long term solutions.
  • Possibly have an interest in engines and the maritime sector.

Welcome to the Automation & Control department
You will be part of the Automation & Control department, which includes approximately 40 highly dedicated engineers. The department is responsible for developing the software that controls the largest 2-stroke engines in the world. We are divided into smaller teams, where you will be part of a team that currently consists of 4 full-time employees and 3 student assistants, all working with our Hardware-in-the-Loop systems. We are a team with good unity, where the daily life is characterized by an informal atmosphere and a pleasant social work environment. We try to spice up the daily work with fun and creative initiatives, which can include games, songs, confetti and costumes. Furthermore, we arrange several social activities throughout the year, such as Tour-de-chambre, Teambuilding, DHL-run and ski trip (self-paid), which we hope you are prepared to be part of.
