About us 
The preparation for the construction of the 18 km long Fehmarnbelt tunnel between Rødbyhavn on Lolland and Puttgarden in Germany is progressing. As project owner, Femern A/S is the company responsible for the planning, construction and operation of the Fehmarnbelt tunnel. Femern A/S is a subsidiary company of the state-owned Sund & Bælt Group together with the Oresund Link and the Great Belt Link.

We are an organisation of very dedicated employees with Danish, German and international backgrounds and great experience from mega projects around the world. We have our main office in Copenhagen, site offices in Germany and our owner’s office in Rødbyhavn, where the Construction Area Manager will be based.

The position
You will become part of the technical division in the Immersed Tunnel Department. Working alongside the construction manager, you will be responsible for parts of the on-site construction management. This involves managing and monitoring the tunnel contract work, i.e. building the production facilities, producing the elements, handling of elements offshore and finalising works inside the immersed tunnel. 

Your key tasks will include:  

  • Execution method report reviews 
  • On-site monitoring of contractors’ performance and reporting of progress 
  • Ensure that construction risk, health and safety matters are properly handled by the contractor 
  • Coordination with authorities and ensure that permits are followed 
  • Verify and approve the requested payments according to progress and quality 
  • Coordination and reporting across the project matrix organisation 

Your profile: A structured Construction Coordination Manager 
You have a degree in civil engineering or similar and at least 5-10 years’ experience from on-site construction management of complex projects.

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

  • Strong engineering skills within large civil works’ structures
  • Flexible and open minded
  • Focused and deliver high quality in your work
  • Dynamic and agile – ability to work with more tasks simultaneously

It is important that you are well formulated both in writing and orally, as good communication skills will be essential. The review and communication will be in English.
