The SDU ENS lab, the MMMI Institute at the Faculty of Engineering in Odense, seeks a student assistant. We are looking for a candidate to perform the project an industrial project “A visuomotor learning and control framework for arm goal-directed manipulation by flexible tools”. The framework will be validated in a UR robot arm. Note that you are welcome to take this project as a bachelor or master graduation project

Tasks:

  1. Building a simulation scenario (e.g., Isaac Gym) where a UR arm is trained to manipulate flexible tools (i.e., whip) to hit moving targets.  The arm is driven by reinforcement learning and optimization algorithms that have been developed
  2. Simulation to real validation guided by visual tracking of a moving object
  3. Result dissemination (report and publication)

You should:

  1. Master UR arm control and robotic simulation
  2. Have proficiency in reinforcement learning and visual tracking algorithms
  3. Study in a relevant field, e.g., Robotics, Data Engineering, AI, or Physics
