For our Nacelle Technology department, we are looking for a test and application engineer who can be a part of our Bearing team based in Brande, Denmark.

How to contribute to our vision:
As a test and application engineer, you will take a central part in the development of our main bearing system for our next generation Siemens Gamesa offshore wind turbines. You will be responsible for driving key test and validation activities and participate in ensuring the bearing application integrity from a functional, operational, and maintenance perspective.

You will need to be agile and strong in driving tasks with multiple stakeholders and be able to take lead on technical decisions and troubleshooting with a practical mindset in close collaboration with the specialists within the Bearing team.

Your work will be carried out in our Nacelle Technology Development department, where new products and technologies are designed, developed, matured, and tested.

Your responsibility will include, but not be limited to:

  • Drive key test and validation activities and take lead on setting up and maintaining test rigs.
  • Take active part in technical solutions and reviews with the internal design team and external stakeholders with emphasis on the functional, operational, and maintenance perspective.
  • Ownership of selected subsystems in the bearing assembly, ensuring its functionality, quality, and integrity.
  • Take part in inspection and troubleshooting activities both on test assemblies, in prototyping environment, and on-site.
  • Ensure collaboration and close dialogue with sub-suppliers and solution providers.

What you need to make a difference:
Passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change. We are looking for a candidate that have:

  • A technical degree in Marine Engineering, B.Sc. or M.Sc. or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Knowledge of bearing systems, preferably from the wind industry.
  • A strong technical mindset with a hands-on approach.
  • Experience with prototyping and test rigs.
  • Knowledge of surveillance strategies/condition monitoring is beneficial.
  • Proficient English, both written and spoken, is a must.

You should have a natural curiosity towards finding better/smarter solutions. Enjoy working methodically and keeping track of what has been done throughout a development project while keeping an agile approach. You possess strong coordination and interpersonal skills and be able to work in a team environment that demands synergy and cooperation. Motivation for making things happen and taking pride in keeping people informed and updated on progress.
